It’s time for summer fun. Grab your friends and mallets for a slow rosé all day kind of picnic.
Summer is (unofficially) in full swing, and if you (like me) feel like it’s already passing you by, take a moment to carve out time for fun. In my book, that means escapes to the woods, hammock time, Lake Erie day trips, and as many picnics as possible. Combining my love of picnics and themes, my friends and I rallied for an afternoon of vintage lawn sport, which we dubbed “Croquet & Rosé All Day.”
We channeled British tea times and long, lazy French afternoons with a table of scones, clotted cream, tea sandwiches, a garden salad, and of course, pink wine. The food was fancy, the competition was fierce, and the hats were a must.
So gather your friends, choose your mallet color, and let the good times (and competition) roll.
Need some help with your rose selections? For fellow Pittsburghers, head to nine o’clock wines, where co-founders Celine and Christie are sure to suggest something interesting. Want an even more refreshing option? Try this frosé recipe from my archives, and stay tuned for some sandwich inspiration and a pound cake recipe that takes advantage of summer fruits.
Happy Summering, friends!
That’s all so pretty!
