I've been inspired by pie, by combining my love of drawing and baking in freeform pie crusts. I've found freedom in the fraisage method of folding butter into whole grains. I've found mindfulness in carving pie crust into delicate, fleeting flowers. And of course, there's no reward quite like flaky pie crust, warm summer berries, and a scoop of ice cream.
If someone told me a few years ago, "Relationships take work," I probably unintentionally rolled my eyes. Then I probably [intentionally?] shot tonal daggers from my hazel irises at this brilliant interlocutor. All these snarky eye rolls implied, "Ok genius, but I am a worker. I can even be an obsessive worker. Some have been so bold as to call me a workaholic, so why, why, WHY could I not seem to work on, or for, or in my relationship?"
Hulling strawberries is a must, but don’t be so quick to toss those strawberry tops. They still hold a lot of flavor. Unlike other water infusion recipes, this Strawberry Detox Water enables you to use the whole fruit. You’re not just sacrificing fruit to become all soggy and flavorless. Bonus points if you compost the tops after drinking the water too.
