This trip and these photos were from a different time, but I wanted to preserve them, wanted to share them here. Just like everything on this blog, they were part of my story, just as a new navigation is also part of my story.
The beauty of a CSA, a Community Sponsored Agriculture program, is investing directly in a local farmer and reducing the stamps in your dinner’s passport. The beast of a CSA is being bombarded with vegetables you don’t love or simply don’t know how to use.
If you ever get the chance to visit Ithaca, be sure to stop at the farmer's market. The breezy pavilion was filled with such beauty and bounty, which we transformed into a pancake brunch board extravaganza (more on that to come!).
Friends, wood and fire, meats grilled over a flame, a smattering of veggies, preferably corn on the cob, and wine. This is the simple yet profound appeal of the South African braai.

On the shores of Presque Isle State Park, my dear friend and I had witchy moments with smoke offerings, flower essences and tarot cards. We swam, we laughed, we cried, and we laughed again at old jokes that have aged well. And of course, we picnicked.
As the nights grow cooler, the sun sets earlier, and a new season teases its approach, I want to remember the intention I felt this spring. I want to savor the current and coming season, to appreciate the beautiful, incremental, wild moments. The epic changes, both within and outside me.
